Power Dinner with Consultants

Mommy is always one to mix business and pleasure. Hey, real estate is life! Susan Kate went to dinner with Jennifer Sembera, our favorite hard-working consultant from Alvarez & Marsal. We discussed deal specific points over tacos and formula. Jennifer assures me that we didn't get billed at the full consultant rate for this visit! Either way, you can tell that Susan Kate is taking it all in!

Rolling Over

Happy Baby Time = in the morning while Mom gets ready...Holding Ourselves Up
SKB has started to roll over. She can do it once or twice at a time before she gets tired and frustrated. She's also starting to be more active during the day, and at night. We typically find her on the opposite side of the crib from where we placed her, and facing the other direction. We're not quite sure how she does it. Here are some cute pictures of tummy time this evening and from Happy Baby Time this morning.

Frustated Susan Kate

After rolling over, much better...

Beauty Queen

Sleeping Beauty Queen, that is...
And awake, also...

Susan Kate enjoys wearing all the clothes she's been given and have been bought for her. The ladies at her school enjoy seeing her outfits. Her mom is always making sure she looks cute and is well dressed. I think shes precious no matter what she wears.

Grandma Sue

Susan Kate has had a great week so far! Her Grandma Sue is staying with us, so SKB hasn't had to go to school. Grandma Sue has been spoiling SKB, holding her non-stop and paying 100% attention to her, which she loves.

Grandma Sue is going to stay with SKB's cousin Rebecca this afternoon so she can love on her, they only live 4 miles away, so I'm sure we'll get to spend more time with them before Grandma leaves in a couple days. Here are some pictures!!

Fine Artwork

I know everybody would like to see the newest signed orginal from SKB. Well, here it is. She calls it "Aaaaahhhaghgg #4" or Flower Handprint, whichever is easier for you to pronounce. Enjoy!!

Father's Day

We had a wonderful first Father's Day. Susan Kate is the best Father's Day gift I could get. She and I spent all day together yesterday, running errands, napping and occasionally getting some things done.

We got up this morning and went to church and then to Brunch with Susan Kate's Uncle Mark and Aunt Marissa, and of course her cousin Rebecca. She's 7 months and a complete mess. Rebecca enjoys being high maintenance. SKB likes to keep things mellow, but the two of them seem to be getting along very well. Everyone came back over for dinner and the cousins had fun looking at each other and playing.

Their Grandma Sue is in town this week, so watch for more activity on this Blog!!

Rebecca is starting to eat more grown-up foods. You can't see her tooth in this picture, but it's in there. She would like to order one of everything on the menu, please.

Play Time

Susan Kate has a new play mat. She's supposed to use this for Tummy Time. She's not really a fan of Tummy Time, yet. We're working on that one.

She also has a comfy little chair for her to sit in. She leans a bit, but she's mostly sitting. Her neck and head are getting stronger all the time, and soon she'll be able to sit up without a whole lot of help. Sometimes she likes to sit in her papasan swing and laugh at the little baby in the mirror.
One of her favorite things to play with is her stuffed animals, she also likes anything that squeaks or rattles.

Shhhhhhh - We're sleeping

Susan Kate spends part of every day doing that which we'd all like to be doing - Napping. She usually takes 3 or 4 naps, roughly 30-45 minutes a day, sometimes in her crib and sometimes in her swing, and if we're lucky, cradled in mom or dad's arms. The pets in the household share SKB's love for naps, as you can see. This is Chili thinking he can get away with sleeping in the bassinet just because it's not being used right now.

School

Susan Kate has been in school for a couple weeks now. She enjoys it very much, her teachers light up when she arrives in the morning and they miss her when she leaves in the afternoon.
She's already making artwork, though we're not sure exactly how involved she was in the actual production. We're going to put it on the refrigerator anyways!

Here are a couple pictures from this morning, she's in her school clothes and ready to get going.

Sorry for the delay

Susan Kate's blog has become more popular than I had first imagined it would. I appreciate all the feedback from friends and family. It seems the most popular thing we hear is "You need to update the blog!!"

So... I'm updating the blog. SKB went to Virginia to see her Gator and Mimi. They were more than happy to see her, even taking some time off work to babysit while Mom went to a JPI conference at the office there. SKB had a wonderful time, enjoying the attention and getting to know Gator's dog, Gus. Gus is 105 lbs of sloppy mouthed love and energy in the form of a sheepdog. He behaved pretty well.

Dad came to Virignia on Friday afternoon to visit, and we all left on Sunday morning. We were sad to leave but it was nice to be back in Texas. SKB doesn't mind travelling on the plane, she didn't fuss at all even though there was long delay in getting to Virginia, and she slept most of the way home, with another delay.

I promise, I will do better in updating the blog. Thanks for caring!

Gator's Dog - Gus - wanting in on the bath action

SKB in Gator's "Ghetto Glider" (a bargain at the 2nd hand store, it needed some bleaching and an alignment, but it was worth the $2.50)

This is what SKB thinks of baths.

With Gator and Mimi in Mom's rental SUV. It appears that everyone is having a great time!!!
